If you’ve been thinking about trying Reformer Pilates but feel unsure about what actually happens when you walk through the door, you’re not alone. Starting something new can feel daunting, especially if you don’t know what to expect.
At Club-K Health & Fitness in Hextable, we make your first Reformer experience simple, welcoming and enjoyable from the moment you arrive.
Arriving at Club-K Health & Fitness
When you arrive at our club in Hextable, you’ll find a clear entrance leading into our reception area. This is where your journey begins. Inside, you’ll be welcomed into a friendly and relaxed environment designed to help you feel comfortable straight away.
As you move through the space, you’ll find our studio area where all Reformer classes take place. We keep our classes small, with up to 10 reformers per session, so you get the attention and support you need.
Getting Ready for Your Class
Before stepping onto the reformer, there are a couple of simple things to know.
You’ll need to remove your shoes before entering the studio. Reformer Pilates is done in sticky socks, which are essential for grip and safety. If you don’t have your own, we have some available at Club-K.
If you’re attending a Reformer Yoga class, sticky gloves can also be helpful, as they improve your grip when holding more advanced positions.
Some clients like to bring their own mat to place on top of the reformer. While all equipment is thoroughly cleaned after every use, having your own mat can add an extra level of comfort.
Our Reformer Pilates Classes
At Club-K Health & Fitness in Hextable, we offer a variety of Reformer Pilates classes to suit different goals, abilities and preferences.
Reformer Yoga is our more advanced option and is ideal for those who already have experience with yoga. Because you are performing movements on a moving platform, we recommend at least six months of yoga practice before joining this class.
Classical Reformer follows the original methods developed by Joseph Pilates. This is a great option if you want a traditional and structured approach to Pilates.
Powerhouse Reformer is a more modern, higher-intensity class. It is designed to challenge you, raise your heart rate and leave you feeling like you have had a strong, effective workout.
Restore Reformer is slower and more focused on stretching and mobility. This class is perfect if you are looking to improve flexibility, recover from training, or simply move in a more relaxed way.
If you’re getting ready for your first session, you might also be wondering what to wear. Read our guide on what to wear for Reformer Pilates in Hextable to make sure you feel comfortable and confident.

Starting with Confidence
If you have never used a reformer before, the best place to start is our Introduction to Reformer class.
In this session, we guide you through everything you need to know, including how to set up the machine, how to use it safely and how to adjust it for your body. You will also be introduced to the different pieces of equipment used in classes, such as boxes, jump boards and rings.
This gives you the confidence to walk into any class knowing exactly what to do, so you can focus on enjoying the experience and getting the most out of your workout.
